ACRYLIC CAR JACK

Acrylic Car Jack created in MECE 1008 Introduction to Machining, a course intended to instruct mechanical engineering majors in the use of vital machinery. All parts featured in the image above were machined other than the screw fastenings and the threading along the center brass rod. All four delrin links were created using an Othermill. Each acrylic block was squared, drilled through, and slotted using a Fryer CNC Mill. The threaded brass rod and aluminum end cap (not pictured here) were shaped using a manual lathe. The acrylic base was cut and etched using photoshop and a Full-Spectrum laser-cutter.
