MACHINE DESIGN BUTTON PRESSING ASSEMBLY
This four bar linkage assembly was assigned as the final project for Machine Design, MECE 3409, in which we were assigned to teams of 6 students and tasked with creating an assembly that hit three buttons in a controlled manner. Our design consisted of a four-bar linkage housing a solenoid that would push each button when the encoder position signaled a button location.
As seen in the gallery below, we designed and performed inertial analyses on each linkage using Solidworks and OnShape software. All aluminum parts were created using CNC milling, lathing, and various power tools, and our solenoid brackets and spacers were 3D printed.
